This technology is ideal for cost-effective production of small batches and customised
products with complex shapes. At the same time, laser sintering makes it possible to
make fully functional prototypes quickly and flexibly. PA laser sintering is an additive manufacturing process and a technology for making prototypes from polyamide. Any three-dimensional shape can be created efficiently and flexibly, entirely without cutting tools or complex CAM programming. It is not necessary to take any technical production issues into account here. The 3D/CAD or STL data of the product are required to create the prototypes.
A piece of software breaks down the STL data into layers. Each layer is then created in a
powder bed. The laser beam is guided along the cross-section of the component and the energy of the CO² laser hardens the powdery output material in the process.

In a design space of 200 mm x 250 mm x 330 mm and with a layer thickness of 0.10 mm,
we produce extremely fine details and high-quality models on our Formiga machine, using
a laser diameter of 0.4 mm. As a result, it is possible to produce models with fully functioning integrated hinges, snap-in hooks and very accurate details, but with a slightly rough surface structure (similar to VDI 33 to 36).
